The priority for our Board of Trustees is to have small class sizes operating at Waiwera South School, which at the moment requires the Board to partially fund a teacher.
Our current set up: In our Junior Room with Mrs Cleghorn we have 11 year 0-4 students. In our SMiddle Room with Miss Chapman we have 16 year 5 - 8 students. The 9 year 7-8 students spend some time each day with Mrs Bissett working on literacy and Genius Hour work.
We love our small class sizes here at Waiwera South School and with the Board of Trustees funding a teacher this continues to happen, ensuring our students get quality time with their teachers which is crucial to their learning and development.
