Waiwera South School is a small rural school located 20km west of Balclutha with a population made up of mainly farming families.
The 2011 roll is 53 students with a staffing of 3.6 teachers. Waiwera South School caters for students from years 1-8.
The school enjoys an excellent relationship between our community, staff and Board of Trustees, and our parents are very supportive of the school. Board, parents and staff have worked hard to develop a well resourced school in an attractive environment.
There is an emphasis on quality education and a strong commitment to provide students with the best learning opportunities possible. This is reflected not only in the school environment but by the willingness of staff, to be innovative in the development of programmes to meet student needs.
