Students

We are a small school, with approximately 40 students from years 0-8. We pride ourselves on our close knit family feel where everybody is welcome, and welcomed.  Our students, staff and community are proud of their school.

This is what some of our learners think of Waiwera South School:
  • The teachers are all very nice and give us opportunities that other schools might not get
  • We get to do lots of fun things, like genius hour
  • Our new bike track and turf are really fun
  • I like playing class games - like maths games
  • We think school is cool because we learn something new every day.  We like science because there is lots to learn and when you do experiments you have to be careful
  • Waiwera has taught me a lot and I'm very proud to be here and have such great friends and teachers
  • We can play in the playground and it is fun because it is really big. We also have a hedge that is fun to play in too
  • Waiwera South has a big playground, good sized classes filled with challenged students and amazing teachers that work really hard to help you with your learning
  • There are lots of friendly people. The teachers let us do cool art
  • We are like a big family because we are a small school, we are lucky to have a lot of things to play on - like a big tennis court
  • There are lots of sporting opportunities like touch, basketball, hockey and lots of tournaments we go to
  • We like how the school is kind of like a big family because everybody knows each other
  • It is a lovely wee school with lots of positivity and support. Everyone gets on well, the teachers push the kids because they believe they can be more.
  • Waiwera goes on heaps of trips and I love learning in creative ways
